JSC Vilash will be the first in St. Petersburg to launch the line on production of nonalcoholic wine in the latter half of 2003. “The project investment made up at $500 thousand. In the following, 2004 year the company plans to enclose in expansion of this production from $500 thousand to $1 million” declared a marketing director of JSC Vilash Maxim Chernigovsky. “After the line launching the output will make 20 thousand dal (200 thousand bottles) per month, subsequently this figure will grow by 2,5 times, to 50 thousand dal a month. A project payback period — 2-3 years. The raw materials for wines will be delivered from Spain, Argentina. The equipment is bought in Italy. According to forecasts of marketing specialists of the company, the cost of a bottle of nonalcoholic wine will settle down on average price range. “We are pioneers —Maxim Chernigovsky comments — For needs assessment of the market by our marketing group was conducted special research in 2002. Results shows that the target group of our consumers are people with prosperity above an average. Nonalcoholic wine — is elite production of a premium class. Our consumers are from 25 to 45 y.o. Those who are above 50, are more conservative in tastes. World experiment shows that more and more people leading a healthy lifestyle try to refuse completely consumption of strong alcohol”. According to the autonomous noncommercial community “Club of Professionals of the Alcoholic Market of St. Petersburg”, in 2002 4,4 mln dal of wine are realized in St. Petersburg. Only St. Petersburg producers released 2,7 mln dal of wine 15% of which are realized in the domestic market. “Generally the percent of import nonalcoholic wines in the domestic market in is very small —Maxim Chernigovsky states — therefore at the first stage it is necessary to compete with more expensive foreign analogs. Perhaps, in 2004 the line of bottling of nonalcoholic wine in bottles of 0,33 l will be launched, and this production will already compete with beer and other low alcohol drinks, despite different price categories”.
